Cryogenic logistics
Dry-ice shipments at −70 °C; highly specialised liquid-nitrogen transport in Dewar vessels is arranged on request.

Transport of biomaterials and biosamples from a single test tube, and delivery of test samples to the laboratory: blood, samples for analysis and clinical trial materials — hand to hand, with temperature control along the whole route.
Medical biomaterial transport is our specialisation: we carry biomaterials and biological samples (biosamples) for laboratories, blood banks and clinical trial centres across Russia and internationally — from a single test tube, hand to hand, with temperature control along the whole route. This includes blood and blood components, samples for analysis, reagents and clinical trial materials (clinical trials test new medicines in patients).
Biosamples are often shipped on dry ice (−70 °C) and frozen at −20 °C, while blood and some samples travel at +2…+8 °C: we choose the mode for each specific sample. We place our own logger inside the package — it records the temperature all the way, and the temperature report for the route (PDF) is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order. Rarely, and on request, we also offer cryo transport in Dewar vessels down to −196 °C (liquid nitrogen) for tissue engineering biomaterials — more in cryogenic logistics. For storage, see biosample and laboratory material storage. Storage is arranged separately from transport.

We specialise in biosamples that cannot go with ordinary groupage cargo and cannot wait for a dedicated refrigerated truck.
Whole blood, plasma, red cell and platelet concentrates, serum. Each component has its own range: red blood cells +2…+6 °C, platelets +20…+24 °C, plasma frozen. We select the mode for the component and fix it in the contract.
Samples for laboratory diagnostics and test samples from clinics and hospitals to the laboratory. Picking up a single sample is an order too: there is no minimum volume. How to prepare a shipment is covered in the article “How to deliver biomaterial to a laboratory”.
Biosamples from centres and organisations that run drug trials, pick-up from the patient, reverse logistics, return of unused medicines. We transport clinical trial materials across Russia.
Diagnostic reagents, test kits and laboratory consumables — at the same temperature mode as the samples themselves.

A common mode for biosamples: temperature-sensitive samples, clinical trial materials. Dry ice does not melt, so the cargo stays dry. Dry ice itself sublimates at about −78.5 °C, but as it evaporates the temperature in the box rises — that is why we label the transport mode honestly, as −70 °C.
Another common mode: plasma and frozen samples. Special boxes with cool packs or dry ice hold sub-zero temperatures without external power.
For blood, reagents and some biosamples. SafePack thermal containers hold the mode without external power.
For samples that need a stable room-temperature range with no overheating or overcooling.
We choose the mode for the sample and fix it in the contract, and the logger records the temperature along the whole route. Rarely, and on request, we offer cryo transport in Dewar vessels down to −196 °C (liquid nitrogen) for tissue engineering.

What is included
A courier collects the sample in person — from a single test tube. Your sample will not travel with ordinary groupage cargo: as a rule, we carry medical cargo only.
The SafePack thermal container arrives with prepared cool packs. The sender places the sample in the inner liner; the driver closes and seals the container. Do not change the coolant layout. Our warehouse performs the initial dry-ice loading, and any replenishment on a long route is agreed separately. Validated holding time depends on the model and conditions. SafePack is registered as a medical device.
We place a SmartSensor logger inside: it records temperature, humidity, light (the light reading shows whether the package was opened) and shocks. The data is read without opening the box — via Bluetooth, through a network of receivers in our vehicles and at the warehouse, or with an ordinary phone.
We deliver to the laboratory and hand the sample over in person. The sensor record shows the temperature graph for the whole route and whether the mode was kept; the temperature report (PDF) is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order.
Temperature, shocks, opening of the package and extra hours of waiting are the main things that can spoil a sample in transit. We address each risk with equipment and procedure, not with promises.
| Risk in transit | Why it matters | How we address it |
|---|---|---|
| Overheating or freezing of the sample | The sample may become unfit for testing | We select the mode for the sample and fix it in the contract. A SafePack thermal container holds it without external power for up to 96 hours in selected validated PCM configurations under their specified test conditions, and the logger records the temperature along the whole route |
| Evaporation of dry ice | Dry ice sublimates at about −78.5 °C, and as it evaporates the temperature in the box rises | We label the dry ice transport mode honestly — as −70 °C |
| Package opened in transit | The mode is disrupted, and it is unclear what happened to the sample | The light sensor records the opening — it shows up in the logger data and in the temperature report |
| Shocks and drops | Risk of damaging the test tubes and the container | The logger records shocks; we collect and hand over the sample in person |
| Waiting for a groupage trip | Extra hours in transit and extra reloading | We collect from a single test tube and carry it without consolidation — as a rule, only with other medical cargo |
| Infectious substances (class 6.2) and dry ice | They require special packaging, labelling and approvals | We carry them with the required approvals and under the rules for transporting such cargo, including by air — dangerous goods transportation |
| No proof of the temperature mode | Questions from the laboratory, the quality department or an auditor | The logger record covers the whole route; the PDF temperature report with the graph is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order |
For blood and blood components the rule is: the thermal container must already be at the transport temperature before samples are placed in it, and components with different shelf lives are not placed side by side. More in the article “How blood is transported”.
We make SafePack thermal containers and SmartSensor temperature loggers ourselves, and we have our own platform with a personal account, a Class A warehouse and our own fleet. We work turnkey and do as much as possible ourselves — we depend on subcontractors very little and keep the temperature under control along the whole route.
The logger records temperature, humidity, light and shocks; the battery lasts several years with no recharging. The light reading shows whether the package was opened. The data is read via Bluetooth through receivers or with an ordinary phone, and the temperature report is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order.
We collect a single sample instead of waiting for a vehicle to fill up. As a rule, medical cargo only — your sample does not travel with unrelated goods.
In business since 1989, working with clinical trials since 2007, with our own customs broker since 2013. We hold a pharmaceutical licence for storing and transporting medicines and work to GDP and ISO standards.
A Class A warehouse, SafePack thermal containers, scanner-assisted receiving and a branded fleet — the whole chain in one pair of hands.

Yes. There is no minimum volume — we collect from a single test tube. A courier comes, takes the sample from you in person and carries it separately, without consolidating it with other cargo: as a rule, we carry medical cargo only.
Leave a request: a courier will come for the sample, take it from you in person — even a single test tube — and deliver it to the laboratory in a thermal container at the required temperature: +2…+8, −20 or −70 °C. A logger records the temperature along the whole route; the temperature report is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order.
Under the 2026 courier tariff, a shipment up to 20 kg from Moscow and the Moscow Region within the Central Ring Road costs RUB 2 513 within Moscow, RUB 4 121 to Saint Petersburg and RUB 10 511 to Novosibirsk, excluding VAT. The price includes a SafePack thermal container, a temperature logger and cargo insurance up to RUB 3 million. Heavier shipments and optional services carry the published surcharges. Use the delivery calculator for your city and shipment dimensions. Dry ice for the −70 °C mode is charged separately at RUB 360/kg.
The sample travels in our SafePack thermal container for the required temperature mode (for example +2…+8 °C or frozen), and we place a SmartSensor logger inside. It records temperature, humidity, light and shocks all the way. The data is read without opening the box — via Bluetooth through receivers in our vehicles and at the warehouse, or with an ordinary phone. The temperature report for the whole route is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order.
Each component has its own range: red blood cells +2…+6 °C, platelets +20…+24 °C, plasma frozen. We select the mode for the component and fix it in the contract. SafePack thermal containers hold the mode without external power, so there is no need to wait for a dedicated refrigerated truck.
Yes, but it is a rare mode available on request. For tissue engineering biomaterials we ship in Dewar vessels down to −196 °C (liquid nitrogen). We discuss such tasks separately for each specific cargo and route.
Yes. We transport clinical trial materials across Russia: pick-up of biosamples from the patient, delivery to the laboratory, reverse logistics and return of unused medicines — with customs support for international shipments.
Yes, international shipments are part of our work. We have had our own customs broker since 2013 and support the import and export of biosamples, including for clinical trials. Our international routes include China → Russia and the UAE / Persian Gulf, and a laboratory of the Gamaleya Centre thanked us for delivering a collection of biological samples to Denmark for an international research project. For an international shipment, prepare the data for customs clearance and send us the route, the sample type and the temperature mode.
We will calculate the transport for your temperature mode and route — from a single test tube to regular pick-ups for a laboratory. With temperature control and a sensor record for the whole route.
Send the origin and destination, cargo description, required temperature, piece count, actual weight and outer dimensions. You can ask a question or get an estimate before formal onboarding. The domestic delivery calculator uses the published Russian tariff; international routes, storage and special handling are quoted for the actual task.
Under the public transport offer, acceptance is signed through electronic document exchange before the first transport order. A registration link is then sent to the email in the acceptance, and orders are placed in the client account. If you have no electronic signature or need different contract terms, the manager agrees the contract route. Storage is arranged separately. How to start working with BIOCARD →
Equipment is selected for the cargo, route and conditions. The stated holding time of up to 96 hours applies to selected tested SafePack configurations; it is not a guarantee for every model, load or dry-ice shipment. The manager can provide the test report for the relevant model and range by email. Temperature reports in the client account are available once attached to the order.
Dry-ice shipments at −70 °C; highly specialised liquid-nitrogen transport in Dewar vessels is arranged on request.
