Customs clearance of medicines and medical devices is not just a declaration. It is a bundle of transport, temperature control, documents and deadlines, where a failure at any step stops the whole shipment. We have had our own customs broker since 2013 — we started working on the import of medicines with it — so we do not hand customs over to a third party: we prepare the declarations ourselves.
For you, that means a one-stop service: a single provider is responsible for import, customs clearance and delivery to your door. One contract, one contact, one invoice instead of a dozen contractors you would have to coordinate. If the cargo is still abroad, we also take on international transport of medicines — from pick-up at the sender to your door. We work to keep the cold chain unbroken at the border and at the temporary storage warehouse: the cargo stays with us and under our control.
We try to do as much as possible ourselves: our own IT team and platform, our own fleet, a Class A warehouse in Vyrubovo near Odintsovo, and our own thermal containers and temperature loggers. Customs clearance is part of the same chain, not a separate outside service.

Medicines

Customs declarations are prepared and filed by our in-house broker. We are not a go-between for you and another broker — we deal with customs directly.

We help check registration certificates, licences and accompanying documents before the cargo arrives, so that it does not get stuck at the border.

We review the cargo before dispatch
We go through the documents, commodity codes, permits and temperature mode in advance. We look for risks on paper, not at the border.

We prepare the declaration
Our broker draws up and files the customs declaration. You do not assemble the package piece by piece — we do it ourselves and are responsible for its accuracy.

We clear customs
We see the cargo through the temporary storage warehouse and release. We work to keep the cold chain unbroken: the medicine stays in a SafePack thermal container, and the SmartSensor logger keeps recording the transport conditions the whole time.

We deliver to the door
Once the cargo is released, we deliver it straight to the consignee with our own fleet. One provider for import, customs and delivery, with as few hand-offs between contractors as possible.

Do you prepare customs declarations yourselves or through a third-party customs broker?
We do it ourselves. BIOCARD has had a customs broker in-house since 2013 — we started with it, to handle the import of medicines. Our team prepares and files the declarations directly, with no third-party broker in between. That is faster and clearer than a chain of several companies.
What does the one-stop customs and delivery service include?
International transport, customs clearance and delivery to the consignee's door — by a single provider. One contract, one contact, one invoice. You do not need to coordinate a carrier, a broker and a forwarder: we are responsible for the whole chain.
Is the temperature mode maintained during customs clearance?
Yes. The cargo travels in our SafePack thermal containers, which hold the temperature mode without external power for up to 96 hours in selected validated PCM configurations under their specified test conditions. The SmartSensor logger records temperature, humidity, shocks and light along the whole route (light shows whether the package was opened). The data is read at warehouses and in vehicles through a network of receivers, or with a phone app. After delivery, the temperature report is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order. We work to keep the cold chain unbroken at the temporary storage warehouse and at release.
What medicines and medical devices can you clear through customs?
Medicines (finished drugs, vaccines, biologics, pharmaceutical substances) and medical devices — consumables, equipment, reagents and diagnostics. We handle temperature-sensitive cargo in modes from deep freezing and dry ice up to +25 °C.
Can an unregistered medicine be imported to Russia urgently?
Such imports require a legal basis and the relevant regulator's permission. Our customs and regulatory teams assess the purpose of the import and the documents, then agree the route and procedures. Acceptance, permits and timing must be confirmed for the specific shipment before dispatch.
How much does customs clearance of medicines cost?
Customs clearance in Russia by our own broker is RUB 24 375 as an indicative fee, excluding duties and VAT. For routes within the EAEU (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan), our customs team checks the status of the goods and any required procedures or permits. The team confirms the exact price for your cargo and documents.

Get a quote and agree the next step
Send the origin and destination, cargo description, required temperature, piece count, actual weight and outer dimensions. You can ask a question or get an estimate before formal onboarding. The domestic delivery calculator uses the published Russian tariff; international routes, storage and special handling are quoted for the actual task.
Under the public transport offer, acceptance is signed through electronic document exchange before the first transport order. A registration link is then sent to the email in the acceptance, and orders are placed in the client account. Equipment is selected for the cargo, route and conditions. The stated holding time of up to 96 hours applies to selected tested SafePack configurations; it is not a guarantee for every model, load or dry-ice shipment. The manager can provide the test report for the relevant model and range by email. Temperature reports in the client account are available once attached to the order.
