Air freight of medicines is needed when the cargo is urgent and valuable: vaccines, reagents, biosamples, drugs for clinical trials. But in flight, medical cargo has two enemies: time and temperature. BIOCARD deals with both: we have direct agreements with air carriers, the cargo travels in our SafePack thermal containers with a SmartSensor logger, and we handle customs ourselves — our own customs broker has worked since 2013.
You hand the cargo to us at one point and receive it at another, with the temperature recorded along the whole route. One point of contact instead of a chain of contractors: packaging, air freight, customs clearance and door-to-door delivery — on a turnkey basis we coordinate the chain with our own equipment and operations wherever possible, under our own control. If the deadline is not pressing, temperature-controlled transportation of medicines by road will do, and cargo from abroad we handle as international transportation of medicines.

Medicines and vaccines

General courier tariff 2026: pickup in Moscow and the Moscow Region within the Central Ring Road (CKAD). Prices exclude VAT; add 22 % VAT. Contract customers use their agreed contract rate.

How we keep the temperature in flight
On an aircraft you cannot plug cargo into a refrigerator, and transfers at airports add hours of waiting. So the container itself holds the temperature, and the logger records what happens at each stage.
Cold without a power outlet
A SafePack thermal container holds the temperature without external power for up to 96 hours in selected validated PCM configurations under their specified test conditions. No power outlet is needed at the airport, on board or during a transfer.
Container and cool packs for the temperature mode
We select them for the drug: +2…+8 and +15…+25 °C, freezing at −20 °C, dry ice at −70 °C. The SafePack design is temperature-tested for each mode, and the containers are registered as a medical device.
A logger inside the container
SmartSensor records temperature, humidity, shocks and light along the whole route, including the flight. Readings are taken without opening the box — through receivers in vehicles and warehouses or with a phone app.
Opening and inspection are visible
The light sensor registers any opening: if the cargo is opened, for example during a security check at the airport, it will show in the data and in the report.
Dangerous goods — by the rules
We ship class 6.2 biosamples (infectious substances) and dry ice cargo with the required permits and in line with the rules for carrying such goods, including by air. More: dangerous goods transportation.

The SmartSensor record covers the whole route, from collection to hand-over. The temperature report is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order — ready-made material for your quality department.

Cargo collection
We collect the cargo from you or from your production site. We respond to requests quickly and set out promptly: air freight is about urgency.

SafePack thermal container + logger
We supply the prepared SafePack thermal container and logger for the required range. For direct collection, the sender places the cargo in the inner liner, and the driver closes and seals the container. It records temperature, humidity, shocks and light (the light reading shows if it was opened) along the whole route.

Air freight
We send the cargo on the nearest suitable flight — we have direct agreements with air carriers. SafePack holds the temperature without external power, and the logger records the conditions throughout.

Customs
We handle customs clearance ourselves — our own broker since 2013. We prepare the documents and take the paperwork off your hands.

Door-to-door delivery
We deliver the cargo to the clinic, warehouse or laboratory. The logger data is read through a network of receivers or with a phone app. The temperature report is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order.

How long does air transportation of medicines take?
The published guide for urgent domestic air delivery is 24–48 hours, including some remote routes. The exact collection, flight and final delivery schedule is confirmed for your consignment. For international routes we calculate the time for the specific route and flight. Do you transport biomaterials and dry ice cargo by air?
Yes. We ship biosamples, blood and biomaterials within the required temperature ranges, as well as dry ice cargo (−70 °C mode). SafePack is compatible with dry ice and is registered as a medical device. For each cargo we select the temperature mode and prepare the necessary documents.
What documents are needed for air freight of medical cargo?
For an international shipment you usually need an air waybill, an invoice and, if necessary, a safety data sheet and Ministry of Health permits for medicines. The exact list depends on the type of cargo and the route; we will advise you and prepare it ourselves, as it is part of our customs broker's work.
Is a power socket or a refrigerator needed on board the aircraft?
No. A SafePack thermal container holds the temperature without external power for up to 96 hours in selected validated PCM configurations under their specified test conditions, so the cargo does not depend on a power socket at the airport, on board or during a transfer.
What happens if the container is opened during an inspection at the airport?
The SmartSensor logger records light as well as temperature, so an opening of the container is visible in the data and in the report.
Which routes do you cover for air freight of pharmaceuticals in Russia and abroad?
We cover domestic routes, including remote and hard-to-reach destinations from Moscow to the Far East. Send the origin and destination, cargo description, required temperature, piece count, actual weight and outer dimensions. You can ask a question or get an estimate before formal onboarding. The domestic delivery calculator uses the published Russian tariff; international routes, storage and special handling are quoted for the actual task.
Under the public transport offer, acceptance is signed through electronic document exchange before the first transport order. A registration link is then sent to the email in the acceptance, and orders are placed in the client account. Equipment is selected for the cargo, route and conditions. The stated holding time of up to 96 hours applies to selected tested SafePack configurations; it is not a guarantee for every model, load or dry-ice shipment. The manager can provide the test report for the relevant model and range by email. Temperature reports in the client account are available once attached to the order.
