We have developed the SafePack SmartSensor temperature logger, which forms one unit with the thermal container. It records the temperature along the whole route, so our clients can review the record of the delivery and check the transport mode.
SmartSensor is a new-generation smart temperature logger fitted with a chip that works over Bluetooth BLE. The temperature is checked through the SafePack mobile app for Android. The logger was developed and is manufactured in Russia specifically for transporting vaccines.
Its main purpose is to monitor and check the temperature in thermal containers or refrigerated trucks while temperature-sensitive medicines and medical products are in transit.

SmartSensor is a reusable electronic temperature logger. It is used to monitor and check the temperature in thermal containers or refrigerated trucks during the transport of temperature-sensitive medicines and medical products, such as:
- 01 Vaccines and other immunobiological medicinal products (MIBP), toxoids, bacteriophages, eubiotics, immunoglobulins, sera;
- 02 Blood and its components, donor organs, tissues and implants, temperature-sensitive medicines.
The logger meets the requirements of the sanitary and epidemiological rules SP 3.3.2.3332-16 (conditions for transporting and storing immunobiological medicines). Currently, BIOCARD actively uses its own SmartSensor® logger. It can be built into a SafePack thermal container and form one unit with it — a "smart" container. With this technology the client can check the transport mode against the sensor record: the record is read by receivers in vehicles and warehouses or by a phone, and the temperature report is kept in the request card in the personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order.
SmartSensor: frequently asked questions
Does the SmartSensor need to be switched on?
No. The logger has no buttons and no display: it records the temperature by itself every minute, so the mistake of forgetting to press a button cannot happen.
How do I read the data from the logger?
With the SafePack mobile app, using the serial number of the logger. There is no need to open the packaging: choose a period, get a chart and save the report as a PDF.
What does the report contain?
The model and serial number of the logger, the recording interval, the times of the first and last measurements, the number of measurements, the minimum, maximum and average temperature, threshold breaches, temperature and humidity charts, and light and shock events.
Can the logger record less often?
No: the recording interval is fixed at one minute. In the report you can choose a longer display interval, so that the PDF is shorter.
What temperature range can the SmartSensor measure?
The temperature measurement range is from −55 to +70 °C.
Who replaces the battery?
The battery is not removable. Only the BIOCARD service can replace it and recalibrate the logger. The service life of the logger is at least two years.
Where does the SmartSensor data go?
The temperature report is kept in the request card in your personal account (Files tab) once it is attached to the order. The report can also be saved as a PDF from the app, and through the API the data can be passed to your ERP, WMS or BI system.
SafePack HUB: warehouse and vehicle conditions
What is SafePack HUB and how long does it run without a power outlet?
The SafePack HUB collects temperature and humidity from its built-in sensors and from SafePack loggers nearby and sends the data to the personal account over Wi-Fi or via a SIM card. It can run autonomously for up to 7 days. It attaches with a magnet to a metal surface and is charged through USB Type-C. In the account you set recording intervals and thresholds and can receive notifications when a threshold is exceeded; reports for any period you choose can be exported as PDF or HTML, and your company logo can be placed on the dashboard.
Reading the record and getting your report
Bluetooth data is read when a compatible phone or hub is nearby. SmartSensor does not continuously transmit temperature throughout the journey. The full-route SafePack PDF appears in the order card's Files tab in your client account when it has been attached to the order. If it is missing, contact your manager with the shipment number.
